Day 2 & 3

Day 2
I went to Jeevan Nagar slum centre today to catch up with the kids and Anita who runs it. I took with me a big box of sweets and biscuits.
It was great to see them and I had a great laugh. Afterwards we went to a local macdonds with their teacher who was treating them. They had never been to a Macdonalds before and they were so excited.

In the afternoon we went Karol Bagh and met with Lalli Singh at Lalli Mobike Adventures to sort out the paperwork for the rental bikes. Later that evening we went to the local mall and had a meal. An early night was had due to the jet lag.

Today we went to Karol Bagh again and then had a quick lesson on Royal Enfield maintence and what spare we were taking. The Pooja ceremony was conducted by Lalli himself before we went on a test ride. I collected my friend Sunil from the metro station enroute. We then went to a t-shirt shop where Lalli proved us with free Royal Enfield t-shirts.
I then left the other guys and went out for lunch with Sunil. Sunil rode pilton all the way back to Vassant Kunj to ensure I got back ok.
For the first time even managed to have lassi (yogurt) in a disposable clay cup. I have kept it and will try to get it home in one piece.

India 2016 - Top of the World Again

The plan this year was not to travel and do bikes. That decision only lasted a few days into the new year when Simon asked me to India to be tail end Charlie on a trip he was organising. Mrs G said yes so I booked a flight and got a new E-visa which was considerably cheaper.

So on 22\6 I flew BA to Delhi. The flight was delayed for two hours on the Tarmac due to the French on strike. During the flight I managed to spill Coke over the India guy in the next seat and put yogurt down my t-shirt. On arrival ended queuing in the wrong place for an e visa and then after collecting my bag told the taxi driver the wrong address. Good news is I arrived at Freddie's flat in one piece, tired, thirsty and hungary. After a couple of hours sleep I went and met Simon across the city in a cafe and then went to dinner with an Indian friend. Fish, rice, dal, chocolate cake.....very good food and excellent company. Even the Indians were talking about BREXIT.
Once back at the flat I will attempt to get some sleep and clear the jet lag. Tomorrow hopefully go to the slum school in the morning, collect the bikes and get new glasses in the afternoon.
It's hot hot hot here.

HUBB UK June 2016

This years was going to be a quiet one. I put in an application to present at the HUBB and talk about the India trip from 2013. My application was successful and I did two presentations, one on Thursday with about 90 people present and the other on Sunday morning with 25 people present.
Well chuffed with the turn out and thanks to all that attended. Baskerville Hall is a great location and this years event was excellently organised.

End of 2015

I haven't the best of bloggers in keeping up with my adventures.
At the end of 2015 myself and Andy went on a little ride down to Normandy, France and then onto Oradour Sur Glane (abandoned WW2 village) and then crossed the MIlliau Bridge onto the South coast of France. We entered Spain and rode the N260 in the Pyrenees which is awesome and well worth the ride.
We headed down to Gibralter and spent a few days there in a very plush hotel and managed to arrange a day out with the Royal Gibraltern Police on their fast inception boats. We explored the Rock and then headed north and onto Bilbao. We were joined by July Rishi who travelled the last two days with us and the ride to Portsmouth. A great time was had by all.
